GVV - PLASTIC MATERIALS USED

OUR PLASTICS MATERIALS

We offer a comprehensive selection of thermoplastics perfect whether you are looking for common plastic materials or if you need alternative and innovative plastic materials.

By the term thermoplastic we refer to a type of plastic material that acquires moldability under the action of heat. In fact, thermoplastics become liquid at a certain temperature, can be heated to their melting point, cooled, and heated again without significant degradation.

In custom injection molding, the use of different types of plastic materials allows for different melting points needed for different applications.

Available plastic materials:

  • ABS – ACRYLONITRILE BUTADIENE STYRENE
Good workability and processability, dimensional stability and soundproofing, as well as toughness even at low temperatures. In fact, in addition to the economic factor and the factor related to recycling, ABS is among the most suitable plastic materials for recycling.
  • ASA – ACRYLONITRILE STYRENE ACRYLATE
The characteristics of this plastic material depend on the nature of its individual components: acrylonitrile giving it hardness, good mechanical properties and chemical inertness; unsaturated acrylic rubber enhances its resistance to impact and ultraviolet radiation; the presence of styrene improves gloss, workability and surface hardness; and unsaturated acrylic rubber gives good mechanical strength.
  • PBT – POLYBUTYLENE TEREPHTHALATE
Highly resistant to dynamic stress, abrasion and impact, it is distinguished by high stiffness and excellent resistance to thermal deformation.
When a material with high strength, good dimensional stability, good insulation and rapid crystallization is needed, PTB proves to be the best choice.
  • PC – POLYCARBONATE
Polycarbonate among thermoplastic polymers is probably the most interesting.
It is nontoxic, versatile, very durable and has excellent insulating properties. In addition to its ease of processing, the advantages associated with its strength, combined with its durability, make it particularly suitable for countless applications of use. Its transparency, light weight and excellent mechanical and impact resistance make it a worthy substitute for glass.
  • PE – POLYETHYLENE
It is favored over other types of plastic material because it is very flexible and lightweight, and its processing is more accessible and economical.
  • POM – POLYOXYMETHYLENE
An intermediate element between a metal and other ordinary plastic materials due to its perfect combination of stiffness and lightness, resistance to tensile strength, repeated impact, fatigue, solvents, fuels, moisture and abrasion. It also exhibits excellent coefficient of friction, elastic behavior and dimensional stability.
  • PP – POLYPROPYLENE
This polymer has been a major breakthrough in chemistry due to its versatility and characteristics, such as excellent heat resistance, high tensile strength, high abrasion resistance and good insulating properties.
  • PVC – POLYVINYL
The main characteristic of this plastic material is its versatility of use. When pure, PVC is a rigid material; its versatility, and therefore great use, comes from the fact that it can also be mixed in high proportions with inorganic compounds and plasticizing products, which make it flexible and moldable.
  • TPU – THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE
Eclectic and transversal material that, if worked with skill and technological expertise, offers endless possibilities of use and can be an inexhaustible source of stylistic inspiration as well as design.
